(Click on this link to find out where and when the ReachOut! Junior Mentor projects take place and what the criteria are for joining the projects) In addition to receiving mentoring support themselves based on our curriculum focusing on competence and character skills in a similar way to a ReachOut! Club or Academy young people in Year 10 receive leadership and/or mentoring training and undertake work usually as peer mentors in the Summer Programme at the end of Year 10. In Year 11 they volunteer at a ReachOut! Academy and/or ReachOut! Club (as Mentors) and again in the Summer Programme. In Years 12 and over they continue to volunteer within ReachOut! or as leaders outside ReachOut! but ReachOut! will support them to find volunteer opportunities elsewherein their community. Key Features: Not necessary but desirable for Years 10 and above to begin volunteering themselves having firstly received appropriate training. They receive the same mentoring as those attending the ReachOut! Club or Academy but additional activities as well. A gradual process from receiving to giving support. |
