Project Summary: The aim of the MEA Club is to provide young people in year 7 and 8 with support in both their academic and personal development. We hope to provide a safe space so the mentees can reflect on their experiences, think critically about their lives and with the support of their mentors, raise their aspirations and fulfill their potential.

As a Mentor you will support your mentee with academic worries, issues they maybe facing in their daily life and helping them with the transition from primary school to secondary school. Group mentoring sessions aim to build the self-confidence and self-esteem of the mentees so that they can apply this in their academic learning and adapting to the new school environment. In the latter stages of the session you will help co-ordinate other activities such as Sports, Dance, Drama, Arts and Crafts, etc.

Mentees on this project are either self referring or referred directly by their school. If you are a bright and enthusiastic person that can bring fresh new ideas then this project would be ideal for you.
