| New academic year mentoring now underway |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| As the academic year gets underway so does ReachOut! With over 930 volunteers registered and over 390 volunteers already trained and active, 2011/12 is set to be one of ReachOut’s best years ever. Existing projects are getting bigger and better; as our reputation gets stronger so does the involvement of the young people. New projects for this year include the SHINE tutoring project in Manchester and the Junior Mentor project in London. Projects for our young people go beyond their time at High School; one former student has developed through ReachOut! and is now, five years later, a project manager running three mentoring projects. This year, two young people have progressed through ReachOut! to become project assistants, supporting with the management of a project. Along with the Senior Mentors who are volunteering with us we have an ever growing pool of Junior Mentors who are now reciprocating the mentoring they have received by volunteering on a range of ReachOut! projects. Thank you to everyone who has helped this year get off to such a great start. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The moral fibre of any organisation whether it is profitable or non-profitable is often best represented by the satisfaction of its staff. If ReachOut! Operations manager John O’Donnell’s pride and enthusiasm is shared by his colleagues then ReachOut! is a very unique organisation. |

It’s the ReachOut! Summer Projects
Once again the annual ReachOut! Summer Projects were a resounding success. The overall objective is to make the transition to High School (whenever it occurs) as smooth as possible for all children attending the project. |
