Girls made this ReachOut project what it is and they will continue to do so! Last year saw mentors take being a role model to the next level by helping the girls to customize their own clothes and plan a Fashion Show. Our aim was to boost confidence and after a trip to a Climbing Centre the girls couldn’t wait for more adrenalin, the sky really was the limit! Some weeks we’ve got up to all sorts of dramatic antics, trust building activities, lifeskills challenges and tackled moral dilemmas. It will be more of the same this year we’ll hit the ground running!
If it is leading by example you’re after try the Homework Club. It sees year 7 children being helped out by Year 11 students with University mentors setting the standard. After some group games and homework it’s time for us all to bond as team with sports and some weeks even dance! These projects will be a steep learning curve for all involved in the projects, but facing these challenges will make you all the wiser. Go mentors!
