Wednesday the 23rd of October saw ReachOut’s launch our new programme ‘ReachOut The Level Up Experience’ in London’s Living Room, City Hall - and what an amazing night it was!

The launch event brought together our Level Uppers from Queen Mary University of London and the University of Greenwich, ready to network with our corporate partners; Macquarie, Bloomberg and Charityworks, and to hear more about the impact ReachOut and our mentors have.

Our CEO Peter Blackwell kicked-off the evening by retelling ReachOut’s story, and how we have grown to work with over 800 young people each year through the support of our incredible mentors.

This was followed by a very inspirational speech by one of our ambassadors Owura Osei-Asibeh who is currently studying at the University of Leicester. Owura told his own story about being a mentee and the impact that had on him, and how it motivated him to become a mentor and ambassador. Owura finished his speech by saying that he wouldn’t be where he is today without the support and guidance he received from his mentors.

The evening’s final speech was delivered by Osi Umenyiora and Jason Bell from The NFL Show, who showcased that character development is important in all that we do, how far that can take us and that our future mentors should be really proud of getting involved. Jason Bell said: ‘I just want to congratulate everyone in this room that is involved with ReachOut because they are the true stars, they are the ones that need to be applauded and I am very happy to be involved with this project’.

The rest of the evening was spent networking and taking competition-worthy Instagram snaps. The room was buzzing. We were so proud to see our Level Uppers connecting with each other, our Ambassadors, and our corporate partners. We can’t wait for our next Level Up event!
