Networking and Knowledge Event - Empowering Young People - London - 10/05/2018 Today's fast-paced world presents young people with a plethora of opportunities, challenges and risks. How can we work together to empower them to take charge of their lives and become positive forces for change in our constantly transforming society? Join us to discuss and debate upcoming challenges and solutions with our panel of speakers and other like-minded individuals from the education and charity sectors. There will also be a variety of charities there to network with such as IntoUniversity, and refreshments will be provided. Our confirmed speakers for the event are: Amos Kimani, Assistant Programme Manager, The Challenge Amos' experience with young people has been varied and incremental over the years. He has worked within community sports leadership and facilitated the Annual Youth Conference in Milton Keynes. Amos worked with a widening participation programme within an inner city school in Bristol and facilitating lessons for Yr 8 & 9 to raise aspirations and share his journey to university. Amos led a project in India with young adults from both UK and India. Amos now works for The Challenge as an Assistant Programme Manager. Jenny Groot, COO, PEAS PEAS's mission is to ensure more African children have access to quality secondary education. PEAS creates innovative public private partnerships with national governments to enable PEAS to build and run sustainable secondary schools in Africa. Jenny has worked at PEAS since 2016 in the role of COO which includes the delivery of access, quality and sustainability across the school networks in Uganda and Zambia. Keshav Bhatt, Founder and CEO, Revolution Hive Revolution Hive plugs the gap by reaching young people on YouTube & in schools and teaching them about issues school doesn't discuss. Like race, gender, and politics. Getting them questioning the influences they are subject to (be that media, or news, or political or private agendas). Teaching them about how to relate to people, about native american rights, or digital leadership in an inter-connected world. Book your ticket below and join us for this fantastic event!
