We run weekly projects across London, Manchester and Oldham (and Liverpool from January 2019) during term time where volunteer mentors work one-to-one with a young person to help them develop academic and communication skills and build character strengths. How to volunteer with us

Volunteering with ReachOut is simple. Follow the steps below and start your mentoring journey!

  • Step 1: fill in our form on our sign up page.

  • Step 2: you’ll receive instructions on how to complete an online DBS application* and to book on to one of our one-off, fun and informative training sessions

  • Step 3: attend your chosen mentor training, meet other mentors, and get your DBS application verified via showing the trainer 3 forms of ID

“I loved my training session. As someone who had never worked with young people before, I left feeling really prepared, ready and excited to start at my project! Due to all the interactive activities and passion of the trainer, the evening flew by. It was a great start to my mentoring journey.” Amy, Mentor 2018/19

  • Step 4: the following day you will choose a project!

  • Step 5: provide contact details for 2 references and complete our online safeguarding training

  • Step 6: start mentoring!

*DBS is a criminal background check, ReachOut covers the cost of the check and you get to keep the certificate.
