What’s the difference between the Level Up Experience and ‘regular’ volunteering at ReachOut?

Being part of the Level Up Experience is the same journey as being a mentor for ReachOut but with a twist. You will still be working one-to-one with a young person as a mentor and making real impact in their life. However, those who are eligible for the Level Up Experience will benefit from a series of exclusive perks related to advancing their professional career.

The Level Up Experience is an evolving project and we aim to add more corporate partners and benefits throughout the year for our volunteers. For now, the Level Up Experience is only open to students at Queen Mary University London and the University of Greenwich.

How am I eligible for the benefits of the Level Up Experience?

To be eligible for fast track benefits we require you to attend 80% of the mentoring sessions. This not only indicates to our corporate partners that you are reliable but is also important for the young person that you are working with that every week you are a consistent, positive influence.

Spaces at networking events will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Application fast tracking and internships will have varying requirements for each of our different corporate partners. Further information will be available later on in the year.

What is expected from me?

At ReachOut it’s essential that our work with young people is the highest quality and makes a real positive impact in a mentee’s life. Our kids are really counting on you to give them the support they need to get a great start in life, so we expect you to show up every week to volunteer during your ReachOut project to really make a difference for the young person you are mentoring.

Am I guaranteed a job?

The Level Up Experience does not guarantee you a job after graduation. CharityWorks and Macquarie Group have confirmed that they will fast track grad scheme applications, more information will come throughout the year. If you are not interested in this offer, this experience will still help your CV stand out from the crowd, strengthen your skills and form key relationships with leaders in various industries.

I am in my final year at university; can I be part of the Level Up Experience?

Yes, if you are a student at Queen Mary University London or the University of Greenwich.

Why is this project only for students at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Greenwich?

This is the first time we are running the scheme. The two participating universities for this year are Queen Mary University London and the University of Greenwich. However, if you are a student at other London, Manchester or Liverpool universities, you can still volunteer as a ReachOut mentor and help impact the life of a young person and improve your CV.

I am a corporate and would like to be part of The ReachOut Level Up Experience. How do I become a partner?

Being part of the ReachOut Level Up Experience is simple and brings great benefits, both to the university students and the participating companies.

If you are part of an organisation who is interested in diversifying your graduate intake and can offer our university student volunteers career opportunities we’d love to hear from you.
