In 2016/17 we worked in partnership with 16 Universities and Colleges in London and Manchester, with over 198 students and who between them volunteered for 3676 hours

ReachOut works closely with volunteer centres and career services at Universities to get students into volunteering through their online career and volunteering portals as well as visiting campuses from time to time.

Working with ReachOut enhances students CV's and employability which is reflected in our partnership institutions. It also improves a range of skills including communication and team work which our LSE volunteer will expand upon below.

Case Study: LSE

In 2016/17, fourteen LSE students volunteered across our project, contributing 277 hours across the year.

89% of the students felt that volunteering with ReachOut had improved their communication skills, ability to motivate others and team working skills.

Mentor, Ismail Salim, a student at LSE was able to build the aspirations of his student "My mentee has a better idea of what university entails and why he wants to attend".

David Coles, Volunteer Centre Manager at LSE Careers, is a big fan of ReachOut! “Working with ReachOut has been fantastic. They are a passionate team at a charity that makes a considerable impact in young people’s lives. Just as importantly they are excellent volunteer managers. They understand the motivations of the student volunteers that they are working with and empower them to make a difference. I’d highly recommend them.”
